Alexander Gallo

Alex Gallo

is a senior associate with the CSIS International Security Program, where he focuses on Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific policy; counterterrorism; and building partner capacity / security assistance issues. He is also a national security practitioner in residence with the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START) at the University of Maryland, a fellow with the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point, and an opinion contributor with the Hill. Mr. Gallo served as a professional staff member with the House Armed Services Committee (HASC), where his portfolio included Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific policy. Prior to his service on the HASC, he was an Instructor in the Department of Social Sciences at West Point and served as deputy director of the Combating Terrorism Center.
