Mark Cancian is a senior adviser with the CSIS International Security Program. He joined CSIS in April 2015 from the Office of Management and Budget, where he spent more than seven years as chief of the Force Structure and Investment Division. Previously, he worked on force structure and acquisition issues in the Office of the Secretary of Defense and spent over three decades in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Kathleen H. Hicks is a senior vice president, the Henry A. Kissinger chair, and director of the International Security Program at CSIS. Prior to joining CSIS, she served as principal deputy under secretary of defense for policy and deputy under secretary of defense for strategy, plans, and forces. She focuses on U.S. national security and foreign policy, geopolitical trends, and defense matters.

Todd Harrison

Director, Defense Budget Analysis and Senior Fellow, International Security Program, CSIS

Todd Harrison is the director of defense budget analysis and a senior fellow in the International Security Program at CSIS. Mr. Harrison joined CSIS from the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments, where he was a senior fellow for defense budget studies. He previously worked at Booz Allen Hamilton and in the aerospace industry and served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves.

Andrew Hunter

Director, Defense-Industrial Initiatives Group and Senior Fellow, International Security Program, CSIS

Andrew Hunter is a senior fellow in the International Security Program and director of the Defense-Industrial Initiatives Group at CSIS. Previously, Mr. Hunter served as a senior executive in the Department of Defense as well as chief of staff to the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics. Additionally, he served as a professional staff member of the House Armed Services Committee and in a variety of staff positions in the House of Representatives.
