Analysis of the FY 2020 Defense Budget and Its Implications for FY 2021 and Beyond from the CSIS Defense Budget Analysis program provides an in-depth assessment of the Trump administration’s request for national defense funding in FY 2020. Characterized as a “masterpiece,” the analysis discusses the budget’s alignment with the 2018 National Defense Strategy. In addition to analyzing the request for FY 2020, the report compares the request to the appropriations passed by Congress and assesses the Department of Defense’s projections for future defense spending by title and by military department.
